We are all huge music lovers here at Purple and for the third year running we are proud to sponsor an event and support the wonderful Swaledale Festival.
For those of you that don’t know about Swaledale Festival (firstly where have you been!?) it is a fantastic annual event which has been going since 1972! It is a festival based in the Yorkshire Dales and it has a diverse range of events including some fantastic musical concerts. art exhibitions and guided walks.
The Festival takes place from the 27th May to the 10th June and with tickets selling fast for the events you should really go to their website and select something to go and see, you really won’t regret it!
This year we are sponsoring event number 37, Amores Pasados, which is taking place on Sunday 4th June at St Andrew’s Church in Grinton.
Comprised of four incredibly talented musicians their album Amores Pasados was released in 2015 by ECM and reached the top of the Amazon Classical Song chart. The group is made up of John Potter, Anna Maria Friman, Ariel Abramovich and Jacob Heringman.
The music is incredibly atmospheric and we are looking forward to hearing a wide variety of songs, including new lute pieces by the legendary Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks and Sting who have been commissioned to write new lute songs especially for this project
To find out more information please go to the Swaledale Festival website and book tickets for what will be a beautiful evening.
