At Purple, we always like to find new ways to strengthen our team further. So after redesigning the lovely Camp Hill Estates website, and seeing the fantastic team building exercises they offer, we thought it would be the perfect time for some team bonding! We had a jam-packed day full of activities, so many in fact that if we were to explain them all we would be here for hours! So we thought it best to mention a few of our favourites.
Our first activity, aptly named Swing Bridge, involved us all getting a lot closer than maybe we had thought we would as we attempted to cross between two barrels with nothing but a tyre swing, a plank of wood, and James and Andrews thighs. After a few failed plans we eventually managed to get the whole team across (Much too the relief of Andrew and James!).
Later on, Sarah and Andrews's lives were well and truly in our hands as they attempted to build a tower out of plastic crates. We only managed 18 layers before the wobbly knees became too much and the tower came crashing down. We also have a brilliant video of Andrew doing his best impression of Miley Cyrus on our Instagram, make sure to check it out here! (And while you’re there why not give us cheeky follow).
Further into the day, we took part in what we all think were our favourite activities, The Segway Challenge and Powerturn Slalom. For the Segway Challenge, we had to race through a number of obstacles and then run to collect a counter to put into a connect 4 game. After a few wobbles when first getting onto the Segways we all had mastered the technique and blitzed through the circuit with ease.
We then moved onto our favourite event of the day, the Poweturn Slalom. This activity required us to be put into pairs in order to operate the vehicle we would be driving. The reason we needed to be in a pair was that each person controlled the drive of one wheel and thus the direction the vehicle would take. It took some time and some near misses but we all eventually managed to get a grip of the controls. We did finally have some timed laps to see who was the fastest pair and it turns out that the Purple Powerturn Champions 2k18 are... Andrew and James!
Overall we had a fabulous day at the Camp Hill Estate and we have all grown as a team. We would highly recommend Camp Hill for anyone looking for some team building exercises, it's hard to find a better setting and a better group of people!
