Our Values

As a company we truly care about the world around us. Whether that be our local community or the wider world, we believe that we have a responsibility to the environment and the people around us. We consciously care about our team and we want every single person who works for Purple to feel happy in their work and to be empowered to make decisions knowing that they are supported and respected.

We provide a safe and fun place for people to work in and offer education and training to allow people to grow. We also encourage staff to donate their time through our company wide Volunteer Day, where all staff members get a paid day to volunteer in the local community.

Our Community

We love where we work and we are incredibly proud of our local community. We like to support cultural events and local charities wherever possible and aim to support as many initiatives as we can.

Last year we celebrated:

• 8 years of supporting the Swaledale Festival
• 14 years of being involved with the Firecracker Ball that raises funds for Barnardos
• 8 years of sponsoring Richmond Walking and Book Festival
• 6 years of running the St Teresa’s Panto Horse Race
• Phil taking part in his 6th Distinguished Gentlemans Ride which raises money for men’s health

We all remember starting our careers, regardless of how many moons ago that may be, so we will always support students and education by taking part in Careers Events, Work Experience Placements and forums that help encourage young people in the tech industry.

This year we will also continue to support the The Station and the Georgian Theatre Royal with sponsorship support.

Our Environment

As a company we care deeply about the environment and are committed to reducing our Carbon Footprint wherever possible. We use biomass heating powered by the local sawmill to heat our offices, plant a tree for every website that we launch to offset carbon emissions and actively encourage all staff members and visitors to recycle.

Last year we started to advise our clients on how to make their websites greener and are making sure environmental impact is considered when we are choosing suppliers, which is why we use Ecotricity for our electricity.

As a business we do not print unnecessary documents such as meeting minutes and agendas and whenever we are attending events and exhibitions we will not try to tempt potential customers to our stand with free swag that will end up in landfill.

We will continue to look after the environment and make sure that we do not damage the planet with our working practices so that the next generation can be proud to work at Purple.
