Cambridge House is a stunning, award winning Bed and Breakfast in the picturesque village of Reeth in Swaledale. Proud owners, Robert and Sheila felt that it was time to freshen up their brand image, leading to the design and development of a new website which was influenced by their reinvented logo. Robert and Sheila care greatly about the experience their users have on their website and wanted this to be at the forefront of the website design.

The Process 

Together we established the core goals that Robert and Sheila wanted to achieve. Understanding their objectives meant that, throughout the project, we could make sure that the new website was:

The Visuals

Cambridge House is surrounded by picture perfect scenery and they strive to ensure that their bed and breakfast facility is aligned with this. The new website had to showcase the house as it is today, with new room furnishings, breakfast offerings and appropriate coronavirus safety measures. 

With out of date imagery, Maisy spent a couple of mornings photographing the interiors so that the website could be full of up to date photos. 

With new imagery, we were able to create a design that was visual, bold and striking; presenting Cambridge House at its best to those looking to visit. 

The Navigation

New pages had been added to the old site, at various stages, to accommodate developments within the running of the B&B. Whilst most, if not all, of the content was still relevant, the new website build created the opportunity to revise the page structure to make sure that users could find what they needed in as few clicks as possible. This revision of the page structure led to more concise copy and a more enjoyable user experience. 

The Achievements

Over the years Robert and Sheila have received lovely comments from guests who have thoroughly enjoyed their stay. In addition, they have been nominated for, and won, many awards. These testimonials and accreditations deserve to be noticed so we made sure both were factored into the design. 

The Outcome

Cambridge House now has a sleek new website that adheres to the brand image they want to portray. The site is now:
