Business Funding 2021

Let’s be honest - 2021 hasn’t exactly got off to the start we were hoping for has it? With a 3rd lockdown and lots of other craziness going on it’s been a strange start but hopefully the vaccine rollout across the country is slowly creating the glimmer of hope we all need. Today we’re sharing some important information with you to give you and your business the helping hand you may need to see you through until happier and more normal times resume. 

Over the past few years we’ve been able to work with a number of clients who have secured funding from several providers to support their businesses and help them to get off the ground with their digital presence. Businesses need this support, now more than ever, to see them through and there are a number of grants you may be eligible to receive - here’s a rundown of just some of them.


1. Richmondshire District Council Small Business Grant Scheme
This grant is currently open for applications and can provide support up to the sum of £1,000. This one is designed to support businesses no older than 36 months and with no more than 5 employees. As long as you meet these criteria and your business is based in Richmondshire there is help available to assist you with - you can find out more here.


2. Richmondshire District Council January 2021 Lockdown Grants
RDC have also reassured residents and business owners that they will be distributing funding, allocated to them by central government, to support the community during the January 2021 lockdown. Information is yet to be published but you can stay updated here and we will also share any information we can!

UPDATE: The Local Restrictions Support Grant is also now OPEN for applications. Information on eligibility can be found here.


3. Richmondshire District Council Community Investment Fund.
While this support may not be suitable for businesses, we know there are some incredible community groups and initiatives in our local area - and the council are able to support them following the effects of the pandemic. More information on the support can be found here.

Businesses need this support, now more than ever, to see them through and there are a number of grants you may be eligible to receive.


4. Hambleton District Council January 2021 Lockdown Grants
As with RDC, Hambleton District Council are also awaiting information on when support from central government will be available to local businesses. Information will be published here and we will keep you informed with any updates.

5. Tees Valley Business Growth Fund
This funding provider is able to provide you with up to 55% towards consultancy projects and small scale capital investments. This can include anything from purchasing equipment to the creation and implementation of a marketing strategy - websites also fall under this category! The aim of this scheme is to support businesses who want to grow and allow them to provide employment across the region.


6. Digital Drive County Durham
If your business is located just over the border into County Durham then Digital Drive will be able to help. They can provide up to 40% support on digital projects including websites and digital marketing, or to purchase any equipment to support your workforce. 


7. NBSL North East Business Support Fund
NBSL North East can again provide up to 40% funding to support business improvement projects. These can range between £2,500 and £8,000 covering a huge variety of support needs. This support is open to businesses across Northumberland, County Durham, Tees Valley and Tyne & Wear. You can find out more just here.


8. Digital Advantage
As many of you know, we have worked closely with the team at Digital Advantage to offer fully funded digital marketing workshops, support for new website development and 1-2-1 consultancy sessions for North Yorkshire based businesses. The team are continuing to offer funded workshops and there are a few spaces available on 2 planned sessions - Cyber Security with our very own Allan Guy and Using Landing Pages to grow your Business with the Purple Digital Marketing team.
