Lauren's 3 Month Update!

Hi, it's Lauren here!

Three months already? It's crazy I know!

Well, it is safe to say that these past three months have flown by! It feels like it has been about three seconds rather than three months! I still remember the nerves I felt on my first day (to be honest I feel like that occasionally) purely because digital marketing is something that I didn't know much about and felt really out of my comfort zone.

I am still to this day super proud of myself for taking the leap of faith of having a complete career change. But, I am so so glad I did it as I already feel such a positive change to me as a person as well as being on a really exciting learning journey.

I have been super busy with my apprenticeship work as well as the day-to-day tasks and projects here at Purple. My role has kept me on my toes! There has been a diverse range of responsibilities including working on projects for some of our lovely clients’ social media content, blog writing, creating graphics, video editing, writing newsletters and even a little bit of photography 📷. With the variety of businesses and organisations that we work with, there is never a dull moment!

So far in my apprenticeship, I have been learning all the theories and technicalities of digital marketing with Apprentify and how I can translate that into my work at Purple. This has been really helpful and has allowed me to further understand the inner workings of being part of a digital marketing team. Even though it is still early on in my apprenticeship I am already itching to work towards my EPA (end point assessment), portfolio and synoptic project - I really like being prepared!

Over the last few months, one of the biggest challenges for me was the copywriting side of things, as I wouldn't say it was one of my strong suits. However, lots of feedback and encouragement from the team here has definitely left me feeling more and more confident with the work that I am producing. Jess has been such a massive help and a brilliant mentor along with the rest of the team supporting me and giving me the confidence to be creative.

I am really excited to see what still is to come with my apprenticeship as well as how I can develop in my role here at Purple! With the festive season fast approaching I am looking forward to seeing what the team will get up to but, one thing I do know is that I am going to thoroughly enjoy my first Purple Christmas 💜

Thank you for tuning in for my little update, I'm sure the next one will creep up just as fast as this one did, but until then if you have anything you would like help with please do get in touch - we would love to hear from you!
