What a year it’s been.
A year of being a Purple Person has gone by faster than I could have ever imagined! I am sure that comes as no surprise to you as I literally start each of my monthly blogs shocked at how quickly every month passes! One year, though, is quite pivotal. To think that a year ago today I was getting ready at my dressing table/ home office desk, eager to jump on my first ever Zoom with the Purple team; it boggles my mind because it feels like yesterday, but also a million months ago!
I couldn’t have asked to be more welcomed into being a Purple Person and feel as settled as I do, but I had no doubt that would be the case after the first time I walked away from my first meeting with Purple in 2019 🥰
I feel really lucky to be part of this caring and supportive team. We don’t just spend our working hours together and turn our backs when we leave the office; we chat and get genuinely invested in each other's lives, interests and weekend plans and it’s all just such fun 💃
My high moments of her first year
There have been many high moments for me at Purple at this point, and in fairness, I think a lot more than I can perhaps rattle off in this blog post. In a nutshell, we have laughed a lot and I can’t tell you enough how much I love to have a good laugh. I have also won my own projects (much to my amazement), made success with tight deadlines, aided successful website launches and was awarded apprentice of the quarter by Apprentify. Not too bad for my first year and it certainly sets a precedent for my years ahead here!
My Apprenticeship update
So, I’ve done a full year at Purple, but this month I am entering my 12th month of doing my apprenticeship, as I began my learning journey in September 2020. With that said, once I have completed 1 full year, I can begin to start my assessments. That means this month is going to be full steam ahead as I try to gather all my work together and prepare for my various assessments. I will be undergoing a workplace observation, professional discussion and working on a set brief that will challenge me on all of my learning over the past year! I am both nervous and excited - assessments are always unnerving but once it’s done and dusted I will then be able to delve more into new Purple projects!
My plans for the future
I am really enthusiastic towards what the future holds for me here at Purple. I started this apprenticeship as I wanted to keep learning and extend my learning journey past it’s natural course, after I completed my degree. Apprenticeship aside, I have learnt so much from the Purple team and I know this is going to continue, as well as any other learning and courses that might cross my path along the way.
I hope you’ve enjoyed keeping up with my monthly updates. I have certainly enjoyed reflecting on my months of learning and working and sharing it with you. Although this is my final apprenticeship update for you, rest assured this won’t be the last apprenticeship diary you read this year… More exciting things are coming ✨
