The Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association works on behalf of local businesses to promote tourism to Richmond and the surrounding areas. The association has over 100 members and provides strategic support for businesses in the local area.

The Brief

We were invited to submit a proposal to Welcome to Richmond, a sub-group of the association, to create a new website that helped visitors to get the most out of their visit to Richmond. The website needed to clearly show events and let visitors explore local attractions, landmarks as well as customs and traditions.

What We Did

There was a great deal of information that needed to be organised, so that visitors could easily find what they were looking for, and so we worked on the page structure and the design to focus on the User Experience. We enhanced and customised our Events System to allow events to be branded to the individual attractions. We also created a process so that events can be submitted by the public to be moderated and then added to the website listings.

Extensive training was provided to enable the Marketing Group to maintain the website themselves and to promote the core attractions of the town.
