A new website for Carers Plus Yorkshire
The Client

Carers Plus Yorkshire are a passionate organisation who provide support and advice to unpaid carers across Scarborough, Ryedale, Richmondshire and Hambleton.

The CPY team is committed to delivering the best possible support and resources to carers in their respective areas and making sure, to the best of their ability, that the service is there for those in need.

The Brief

When we first spoke with the Carers Plus team, they were at the beginning stages of merging the two organisations; Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource and Hambleton and Richmondshire Carers Centre.

They were part way through their new branding and needed Purple’s help to create a clear, clean and engaging website that highlighted the best methods for getting in touch with the team and offering instant help, via resources, for those that required it.

CPY rely heavily on referrals, this is how they get introduced to the unpaid carers that can benefit from their help. Their existing web presence did not have this facility so a crucial part of the project specification was to include easy to use and manage referral forms that collected all of the necessary details in one place.

What We Did

We began our process by familiarising ourselves with their new brand guidelines and, together, we created a bespoke website design that aligned with their new brand identity and felt more in tune with their values and ethos as an organisation.

In time for the website’s initial launch, we had all the necessary functionality in place for people to get in touch and make all important referrals, simply, through online forms.

However, the project did not stop there. Following the launch, as new ideas developed, the website grew, accommodating a rich resources area dedicated to a library full of resources, readily available to anybody who would need them - this is known as the Knowledge Locker - allowing people to have access to some form of help 24/7.

The Outcome

The team at Carers Plus want to provide all the help they can to carers in the North Yorkshire area and, through the new website, carers now have an easy to access means of finding out how they could be helped and supported. 

The new website:

  • Is clear and easy to navigate
  • Has a simplified and clean bespoke design 
  • Is attune to the new brand
  • Is valuable to the user, with their new Knowledge Locker library of resources
  • Has simple and clear referral methods
