A new Job and Careers site for Tandridge District Council
The Client

Surrey based Tandridge District Council has been a long-established client of Purple since 2017 when we were first engaged to develop the new Council website.

The Council covers an area to the south of London, from Redhill in the west, to Sevenoaks to the east, servicing some 38,000 properties and 88,500 residents.

Over the years we have continued to work with the Council, rebuilding their primary website in 2024 and developing a new inhouse Intranet solution.

The Brief

Towards the end of 2024 we were asked to develop a new stand-alone website to host their Job and Careers information.

The new website needed to embrace the core brand and styling of the main site but be more visually appealing to people seeking jobs within the Council.

It was important that the new site had an obvious and easy navigation process and could showcase video content.

As with the main site, it was important that existing editors could easily continue to edit the new website.

What We Did

As with all large-scale web projects, we developed a series of initial design mock-ups based on the core main Council website. With such a strong initial design, these were quickly distilled down to a final approved home and inner page design.

The new page structure was established and content, for text and images, was reviewed and planned.

The site then went into the build process to get to a point where we had a staging version to share with the client.

After the usual tweaks and minor changes, the final content was deployed, including videos, and the site went through final testing for responsiveness on tablet and mobile devices as well as Accessibility testing.

The site then went live at the beginning of April 2025.

The Outcome

We developed a beautiful new website that looks vibrant and welcoming to people considering employment with the Council.

The site now helps to provide information and job examples for Job and Career related activities on behalf of the Council.
