Purple Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) company policy covers our commitment to the environment, our staff and the local community.

 

 

We understand that Purple Creative Services Ltd is a commercial business but we would like to be able to support our staff and make sure we put back into the local community where and when we can.

Our company will:

  • Provide a safe, secure and fun place to work
  • Support our local community
  • Create, update, implement and follow internal policies
  • Support staff in education and training
  • Respect and protect the environment
  • Actively promote diversity, inclusion and equality for all
  • Ensure all business operations are legitimate and in line with the law
  • Keep every partnership and collaboration open and transparent
  • Be open to volunteering opportunities
  • Sponsor and support local events where possible

Business ethics

We’ll always conduct business with integrity and we will always:

  • Respect the Customer
  • Not use over complicated industry jargon
  • Empower and educate the customer to help them make informed decisions
  • Only quote for services and solutions we believe the customer genuinely needs
  • Keep our pricing reasonable and affordable
  • Pay our suppliers in a timely manner

The Environment

We are only too aware of how precious our planet is and the role that we as a business have to play in protecting its future.  We will:

  • Provide free clean drinking water and discourage staff from using single use plastic bottles and plastic cups
  • Reduce printing where possible and make more documents available digitally such as meeting notes, minutes and agendas
  • Use biomass heating powered by the local sawmill
  • Plant a Tree for every website launched to offset the Carbon Footprint of our servers
  • Recycle and encourage staff and visitors to do the same
  • Use environmentally friendly suppliers such as Ecotricity for our electricity
  • When attending events and exhibitions we will not try to tempt potential customers to our stand with free swag that will probably end up in landfill

Supporting the community

We are proud of our community and understand the importance of cultural events as well as charities to our local area. We aim to support as many initiatives as we can and have a donations budget for the year. Specifically we will aim to support:

  • Fundraising activities that affect local people (such as the recent Flooding fundraiser)
  • Charity Events organised by our clients
  • Community Events that focus on culture, music and drama for all such as Richmond Live, Swaledale Festival
  • Charities supporting Children such as Barnardos, Parents4Parents and Homestart

Supporting Education

We understand how important it is for businesses like ours to integrate with local education providers to help young people find businesses approachable and offer them advice, experience and insight into our industry and day to day working life. We will:

  • Offer Work Experience Placements for School and Sixth Form Students
  • Offer ongoing support and encouragement to students who have been on Work Experience placements with us if they require it
  • Actively support education programmes that we are approached by, such as school visits or trips
  • Offer advice and support to students who ask for it
  • Attend local events that the schools organise, such as mock interviews and career events
  • Support Apprenticeships
  • Work with Higher Education Providers to make sure their courses reflect current industry standards
  • Actively encourage and support staff who would like to further their own education through courses, qualifications and attending seminars or events

This policy summarises the Corporate Social Responsibility that we as a company have and all staff members, directors and stakeholders are responsible to implement this and make sure their conduct is reflective of these shared goals. We are proud of our involvement in the local community and would like Purple to remain a positive, safe and inclusive place for our Staff Members to work.
