It's not often that I get to write any news these days but being that I worked so closely on this particular project, I thought I should pick up a pen, well a keyboard actually, and put down some words.
The new website for the Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust went live in early March and, as always, we are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work on such an important project.
The Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust (RBPT) was the organisation behind the re-development of the old Station building here in Richmond. Now more commonly known as The Station, this has become a key visitor hub service not only for the local community but the many tourists who visit Richmond each year.
The Station became a focal point in the very early days of Purple when I was first engaged to help with the project to assist in finding food producers for some of the retail spaces in the building.
The inclusion of a Restaurant and Cinema had a significant impact on the town and after celebrating 10 years The Station is still as popular as it was the first day the venue opened.
It is, therefore, probably no coincidence that the Trust are now looking at other projects in the area to help breathe life back in to old historic buildings.
The new website will serve as a vehicle to share information about new projects and, hopefully, encourage participation from volunteers as well as much needed donations to help underpin some of the costs involved in reinstating these glorious buildings for our common enjoyment.
Marcia McLuckie commented: We chose Purple to create the new website because I had already worked with them on another project and found them to be helpful, knowledgeable, creative and endlessly patient! Phil and his team certainly didn’t let us down and it has been a pleasure to work with them. The site is absolutely what was needed for the Richmondshire Building Preservation Trust and they supported and helped us every inch of the way. Since the site went live I have received many positive comments on the look of the site and how easy it is to navigate. Thank you Phil and Purple!
