The Armed Forces Covenant

Based in the heart of North Yorkshire we are lucky to be surrounded by stunning scenery, and anyone who has visited our Studio will know that we overlook lush fields, sheep and the Yorkshire Dales. However, if you are not from the area and have not visited us you may be surprised to learn that we are actually only 3 miles away from the largest British Army Garrison in the World (thank you Wikipedia!).

Being so close to the Garrison and realising how much the military community surrounds us we decided to look into signing the Armed Forces Covenant to solidify our values into pledges to support the entire Armed Forces community including regulars, reservists, veterans, and military families.

Inclusivity and flexibility have always been core values of the business so we realised that we actually already uphold a lot of the key principles in the Armed Forces Covenant. However, we didn’t realise that there are ways that we could improve such as advertising any job vacancies with the Career Transition Partnership and the Forces Families Job Forum.

We are actively involved in Armed Forces Charities and are always open to hearing about new opportunities to support Military Charities. Phil is a Trustee of the Military WAGS Choir  and we are incredibly proud to have been supporting them with our services for nearly ten years. We have also worked with a huge number of Veterans over the years to help them start new businesses and over the Summer we volunteered to host a number of recruits who needed to practise interviewing civilians.

It would be remiss if we did not mention in this post our own Purple family, two of which are from military families.  We don’t want to dwell on it but we see on a regular basis the challenges they face and as a business, we strive to be flexible and support them in any way that we can.
