Well, what a way to end the month! Last week we launched a gorgeous new website for The Gluten Free Kitchen filled with images that will have your mouth watering and lots of information about all of the free-from products they offer.
Since Sue and business partner Dave established The Gluten Free Kitchen back in 2005 the business has flourished thanks to Sue’s dedication to developing recipes suitable for those dealing with coeliac disease. Despite the rapid growth of the business it has retained it’s Yorkshire roots, moving from the small village of Askrigg over to Leyburn for the sake of securing larger production facilities and retail space. Having started out creating products just for gluten free customers, Sue has now expanded her offering to create products free from wheat, dairy and egg while still being a treat for the taste buds.
Having started out in a quiet village in the Yorkshire Dales, you will now see products from The Gluten Free Kitchen stocked in supermarkets across the UK including Waitrose and Sainsburys! With further growth in mind, Sue and Dave approached us to create a new website to make their products accessible to an even wider audience and tell the story of how the business has evolved.
When creating the site, we have focused on creating a simple shopping experience to allow customers to find exactly what they are looking for in just a few clicks. To aid this we incorporated filters to allow users to narrow their search according to their dietary requirements. We also added a dietary requirement key so it is simple to determine whether products are suitable for different requirements just by looking at the visual aid.
We also added a stocklists page which includes links to maps which show the Sainsburys and Waitrose stores where The Gluten Free Kitchen’s products are stocked. As well as this, under the ‘Our Story’ menu tab you will find lots of information about the brand including a list of the awards they have won, restaurants who include their products on their menu and of course some information about the founders.
In terms of design Sue and Dave wanted it to match their current branding on their products. We used their existing logo and branding colours across the site which makes it look lovely and fresh and the products stand out against the light backgrounds.
We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Sue and Dave on their new site and can’t wait to see where it helps lead the business! Have a look at the site here, we bet you’ll end up placing an order!
